What does it mean to you to be a person of color in technology and gaming?
For me it means recognition, empowerment and hope. It means that a new day full of opportunities and progress has come for my community. A day where any skilled, creative and committed person of color can be part of – without fear of any kind of discrimination.
Yet, there is always room for improvement. And I’m living proof of this continuing progress.
What is it like being diverse in gaming?
Being diverse in gaming is allowing individuals from different cultures, races, genders, and sexual orientations to see themselves represented as heroes, leaders, and protagonists.
What is Zynga doing to empower persons of color in the workplace?
Zynga has a robust diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility program. As part of the DEIA program, the BZU always promotes initiatives (workshops, seminars and multiple activities ) to empower and welcome persons of color. Particularly in Zynga’s Cybersecurity department, the empowerment and inclusion are so amazing and strongly enforced that I only remember being a person of color when I see myself in the mirror or at a Zoom meeting (LOL).
