Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to Zynga.
My journey in People Operations started at General Electric where I began my career as a Management Trainee. As part of my role, I did a rotation in Learning and Development, and I truly enjoyed the people aspect of it. That led me to the HR Business Partner role. Since then I’ve been in several roles within People Operations, including Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Learning, and HR Business Partner at GE and Dell Inc.
I was referred to the HRBP Director role at Zynga, and after I met the People Ops leadership and some of the business leaders, I was sold.
What is your current role and responsibilities at Zynga?
I’m the HR Business Partner Director for Casino Match. In my role, I thrive by making a positive impact on employee experience and being a source of positive influence in the employee journey.
Tell us about joining WAZ (Women at Zynga) and what the group has brought to you & your career.
WAZ provides me with a sense of community; it allows me to learn from challenges other women have faced and how they have grown from it.
How have mentors/leaders helped or inspired you throughout your career?
Mentors have played an important role in my career. When I was less experienced, they helped me with the learning process by establishing trust and modeling positive behaviors. Others have helped me by supporting me in achieving my goals.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Think big picture, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) is #ChooseToChallenge (collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge). How have you chosen to challenge? Or have you been inspired by a leader or mentor in your life who has chosen to challenge?
I #ChooseToChallenge by fostering inclusivity in meaningful ways. I am also passionate about helping women find their voice.
What is your favorite Zynga game (past or present) and why?
Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells and Words With Friends are my favorite games! I also can’t wait for Zynga’s new Star Wars game to come out.
Tell us a surprising fact about yourself.
I can speak 6 languages.
